THE DANGEROUS ANTICHRIST SPIRIT IN THE CHURCH PART 2 by Jeff Wingo

Witch of Endor by Nikolai Ge, 1857.

Witch of Endor by Nikolai Ge, 1857.

Since the early part of the 1990’s, a very dangerous antichrist spirit has been manifesting in Christian Churches around the world. It’s always been here, even before the 90’s, yet it is now growing even stronger, and continues to drag the church down in a never-ending spiral of deception, lies, and apostasy.

But, before I begin let me emphasize that I believe in the charisma–the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Paul outline the gifts, and provided a discussion on their use in 1 Corinthians chapters 12-14. While it is beyond the scope of this article to provide an in-depth analysis of the gifts, suffice it to say that his major point on the use of the gifts is found in the last verse of the 14th chapter:

Let all things be done decently and in order (1 Cor. 14:40).

Even though there is lively worship in the church, and although people may “experience” the presence of the Holy Spirit during that worship, there will always be a decency and an order to things.

It is not edifying to have men, and especially women, laying on the floor as if an earthquake took place–nor is it edifying to hear people moaning, or sardonically laughing, or laughing as if in a fit of hysteria. Nor is it spiritually edifying to hear people barking like dogs and braying like mules, rolling on the floor, shaking as if they are having a spasmodic fit, or jerking and shaking their head as if their neck could snap at any minute. Those kinds of manifestations are not decent, nor in any kind of order; and I can safely say they are not of the Holy Spirit. They either occur because of the flesh, or peer pressure, or, are evidence of something more sinister.

These types of manifestations are indications of another spirit, not the Holy Spirit.

While there are plenty of people who will disagree with me on that point, let me again emphasize that the Bible–written by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit says, let all things be done decently and in order. How is it decent and orderly if people cannot hear the Word of God and respond to it because they are distracted and caught up in the circus-like atmosphere with weird and strange manifestations happening all around them?

Here is an example of what I am talking about. Please take the time to watch the following video because it is a perfect illustration of an antichrist spirit spreading deception in the Church. At this point should note, and I say this with all compassion, that I am afraid the young people in this service really do not know, or understand, the difference between an evil spirit, which is spreading deception, and the power of the real Holy Spirit dealing with hearts about sin, righteousness, and judgement to come (Acts 24:25).

Please watch the entire video, it is 5 1/2 minutes in length; and at the beginning you will see Bill Johnson. I think this video was filmed at his Church in Redding California, or, he and Heidi Baker must have been participating together in a Church service elsewhere. Near the end you will see an example of demonic possession happen in a Christian Church caused by the laying on of hands by someone claiming to be a Christian leader.

What you have seen is just a small example of what is passing in the Church these days as the Holy Spirit. Let me say this as strongly as I can–Heidi Baker did not impart the Holy Spirit–when she placed her hands on the blond-headed young man, she transferred a demonic spirit, and that is where her power comes from–to be blunt–she is utilizing a familiar spirit. In the Hebrew language it is referred to as an OB or OWB–it is the same kind of spirit used by the witch of Endor in the Bible (1 Samuel 28: 3-25).  In some Eastern religious sects, often called “Kundalini cults,” the guru or spiritual leader does the same thing, with the same results.

It is clear that the young man reacted violently once he was filled with a demonic presence–again, Eastern religions refer to that kind of impartation as the awakening of the Kundalini.

When the young man received the Kundalini his physical body reacted violently because the evil spirit activated the nervous system in the lower part of his spine. I dare say that the spirit that possessed him will be very difficult to expel–not impossible mind you, through the name and the power of Jesus, but very difficult– it will take much prayer and fasting to free him.

That is real demonic possession–it is not the Holy Spirit, it’s a counterfeit, and it will cause demonic possession or oppression in the person who receives it–even to a born-again Christian, if they open themselves up to it.

We are tripartite beings, God created us with a spirit, soul, and a body. A regenerated Christian has the Holy Spirit in his spirit–his spirit has been born-again. But, the body still possesses a sinful nature, and the soul (the mind), is still subject to the desires of the flesh; furthermore, disease and the environment can influence the mind–and this includes influence by a demonic power. We understand why unregenerate people follow after this stuff, they are looking for some kind of spirituality, and now you know why it is also possible for a true Christian to get mixed up in this spiritual mess.

I could name a dozen Christian leaders right now off the top of my head who allow this kind of spirit in their Church because it draws a crowd of undiscerning people, and even some true Christians get caught up in it. This is the same kind of spirit found at the Toronto Church years ago under the name, The Toronto Blessing. It is the same type of spirit found at the Brownsville Revival in Florida years ago, and its the same kind of spirit found in Bill Johnson’s Church in Redding California right now. I am not judging hearts here, I am judging the spiritual fruit of a dangerous ministry–because it is nothing more than deception filled with  thorns and thistles:

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit (Matt. 7:15-17).

Remember, not everyone who says Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom. A wolf in sheep’s clothing also uses the name of Jesus and does many wonderful works (miracles). The deception is powerful:

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity (Matthew 7:21-23).

That is why I do not allow just anyone to lay hands on me, or my wife and daughter. I must know them, know their relationship with Christ, and observe their life. I realize that sounds hard–but we are in dangerous times! We are living in days of apostasy, and believe me, we must be spiritually discerning–not critical, but discerning.

One last thing regarding the Kundalini in the church. The main reason many people are subject to this kind of spiritual deception is that they always want MORE than what the Bible offers, and they always want something MORE than what true Christianity actually is. Have you heard the call for MORE? We want more–what they really want is more spiritual power that they can FEEL! That is what they actually want; they want to feel and experience their spirituality, and they want to feel Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit. But God wants us to walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).

Yes, at times we can sense the presence of God, but for the most part the Lord requires us to walk by faith, especially as you get more mature in the faith. You don’t need God to prove Himself  with miracles. And yet, thankfully, there are times when He does  grant a miracle, and healing, but it is always under HIS CONTROL, not the control of any man, or supposed “faith healer.” But even if God doesn’t grant a miracle He will always provide grace and mercy–and it’s always sufficient for any circumstance (2  Corinthians 12:9).

As time goes by, and we get closer to prophetic fulfillment, the spirit of antichrist will grow more powerful and influence many millions of people, drawing them further away from true faith in Jesus Christ. Always remember that the Antichrist and the False Prophet will use spiritual power to deceive–they will produce real miracles, signs, and wonders–and the world will wonder after the Beast:

And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. 3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast (Revelation 13:2-3).

Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders (2 Thess. 2:9).

Remember to pray for the persecuted Church. Radical Islamists in France attacked a Catholic Church during mass in a suburb of Rouen in northern France and slit the throat of 84-year-old Priest Jacques Hamel. Several others were injured as well, fortunately the police killed the Islamic attackers.

The murder of Christians continues all over the world, and yet, in the end God will avenge His believers:

And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: 10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? 11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled (Revelation 6:9-11).

THE DANGEROUS ANTICHRIST SPIRIT IN THE CHURCH PART ONE by Jeff Wingo

And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many (Matthew 24:4-5).

Thankfully the Bible provides an abundance of information to protect the believer from deception; this is extremely important because the climate of the Last days  is characterized by the nefarious power of deception in every area of life. Indeed, the words of Jesus in the above verse are rich in eschatological meaning. According to Vine’s Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words, the words, take heed, used in verse 4 mean “‘to look, see,’ usually implying more especially an intent, earnest contemplation.

In other words, we are to deeply think about not just the possibility of deception, but that its actual manifestation is an ever-present reality. That the deception will come from man is expected, but it is especially troubling that it comes from men in the church–false apostles, false Christs, false prophets, and other destructive workers.

An example of this is found in the book of Acts when Paul was getting ready to depart from the church at Ephesus. He emphatically warns the elders that “after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them” (Acts 20:29-30).

This dovetails with the prophetic teaching of Jesus (with an added supernatural element), when He warned the church that, “There shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect” (Matthew 24:24).

Paul gave further insight regarding this when he revealed that the deceivers in the church “are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.  And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.” (2 Corinthians 11:13-14).

It should be noted that Paul, just like Jesus, added a supernatural element to the appearance of false apostles and deceitful workers. The injection of Satan as a transforming power in the church is very insightful.

Going back to Jesus’ words in Matthew 24:5, He said, “For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.” It should come as no surprise that when deceivers come to the church with false signs and wonders they won’t come right out and say–I AM CHRIST. No, they usually come to the church with a guise of religious piety, using the name of Jesus to give them an air of Christian authority.

Sadly though, a few might go as far as to claim they are Christ, or at least a manifestation of the Christ.  For instance, one of the most troubling false teachings of the past 25 or thirty years among Charismatic and Pentecostal Christians is the Word-Faith false teaching (mainly from Kenneth Hagin, Kenneth Copeland, Benny Hinn and others in the WF camp), that the Christian is a god–a little god, and, because the Christian is a little “Christ” or god, his words contain power to change reality. This flies in the face of biblical truth,  which states that God is God alone–Isaiah 37:16:

  • O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, that dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth: thou hast made heaven and earth.

Man will never be God, or a little god, in this world or the next. The above verse along with Isaiah 45:6 should be the end of the “little gods” false doctrine, if you believe biblical truth that is:

  • That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.

In spite of the above examples, false prophets usually will not come right out and claim to be God, or Christ; no, they are more subtle. To illustrate, the word Christ means anointed, or anointed one.  So, when the deceivers come to the church they always seem to pretend they are someone special–with an anointing. They lift themselves up (some even do it in a humble way!), by letting it be known that if you want to hear from God, or receive His touch or attention, then you must get a special touch from them, an impartation, because they are the “anointed one.” They boast of Christian authority as they lay claim to titles such as prophet, apostle, or bishop.  They love titles because it sets them above and apart from the laity–and that my friends is the sin of the Nicolaitans!

In Revelation 2:6 Jesus told the church of Ephesus, “But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.” The term Nicolaitans refers to one who conquers and subdues the people. In this case a false prophet or apostle, by a show of authority, and driven by their will to rule over God’s people, wield the club of “prophecy,” or a special “anointing;” which of course implies their power to mediate between God and man–and by doing so they reveal their true identity as a pure manifestation of the spirit of antichrist because they have usurped the place of Jesus as the only true mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5).

With that understanding, and with the meaning of the title Christ in mind, lets look again at the words of Jesus in Matthew 24:5:

For many shall come in my name, saying, I am THE ANOINTED ONE; and shall deceive many.

Now, and this is very important–not everyone who says they have an anointing is a deceiver, or a false Christ. There are many godly men who faithfully preach the Word of God who use terms like anointing, or anointed preaching; or, they may even pray, asking God to anoint their preaching, teaching, etc. We must use common sense here.

God has blessed many godly preachers and teachers with a powerful anointing to communicate the Word of God, and some may have a powerful anointing to pray for others in true biblical faith. But there is a great difference between a godly anointing and a false anointing; the problem for many in the church is that they cannot tell the difference, and that is the situation brought about by a lack of biblical knowledge and understanding. In turn, a biblically illiterate church is fertile ground for false prophets and others to gain a foothold.

In my next post I will discuss the difference between the real anointing of the Holy Spirit and a demonic counterfeit. This is very important because all false apostles, prophets, and deceitful workers in the church are precursors to the revelation of the Alien Antichrist. The situation of the past 22 years or so is the foundation that the Man of Sin will use to build his church–the cult of the Dragon and the Beast (Revelation 13:4)!

A WORD ABOUT DANGEROUS MIRACLES AND SIGNS by Jeff Wingo

The Light of the World by William Holman Hunt (1851-1856), representing the figure of Jesus preparing to knock on an overgrown and long-unopened door, illustrating Revelation 3:20: "Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me".

The Light of the World by William Holman Hunt (1851-1856), representing the figure of Jesus preparing to knock on an overgrown and long-unopened door, illustrating Revelation 3:20: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me”.

In 1994 a very enthusiastic Christian friend told me about a new revival in Toronto, Canada. He said many people were getting saved and miracles were happening! We discussed the revival, and since Toronto wasn’t very far from where I lived in Ohio, I suggested that we ride up there to the Vineyard Church and see the revival for ourselves.

As it turned out, I wasn’t able to go to Toronto at that time because something else came up. I felt bad for not going, but it just wasn’t the circumstances–these were circumstances orchestrated by the Lord. Looking back I can see that the Lord didn’t want me to go to Toronto, He had other plans.

A short time later I received a phone call from my Christian friend who told me more about the Toronto revival. You see, because I didn’t go he also cancelled his plans at the time. But, now he called with exciting news–the revival was coming to Columbus, Ohio. Even though we couldn’t go to Toronto, the revival was coming to us!

That was exciting news, but after I got off the phone my mind began to flood with all kinds of thoughts and questions. I felt excited about it but at the same time I also felt uneasy for some reason. I shook off the uneasy feeling, but it kept coming back. As it turns out, the uneasy feelings I began to experience were subtle warnings coming from the Holy Spirit. What I didn’t realize was that God was about to give me an education that money cannot buy.

Riding to the Vineyard Church in Columbus, Ohio, I felt sick inside for some reason. I didn’t know why I felt ill, something inside my mind and heart just wouldn’t let me rest or be at peace as we were traveling to the church.

We arrived at the church and I learned that several members from the ministerial leadership team from Toronto were there. So, my wife Krista and I found a seat in the middle of the auditorium and waited to see this much-anticipated event. I had heard some good things about the revival, and I also heard some negative things as well. But, before I passed judgement, I decided it would be best just to sit back and observe the leadership team in action and listen to their doctrine. Signs and wonders are one thing, but I knew that doctrine was even more important.

Even though most people are adverse to doctrine these days, it is the major way to discern truth from error.

Another way is to observe the lifestyle of those who claim to be Christian leaders–the way they conduct their personal and private life, especially with family, is very important.

Over the years I’ve studied many religions and cults, and there is one thing I have learned. Never follow miracles, signs, and wonders, because even cults, especially Eastern religions, have miraculous signs as well. What many Christians don’t realize, especially Charismatic and Pentecostal Christians, is that many cults and Eastern religions also experience glossolalia or tongue speaking, and just like Christians, they also fall out under the power when touched on the forehead by their guru, or spiritual teacher. In Hinduism this is called Shakitipat. Here is an accurate description from Wikipedia.org–I checked this definition against others, and it is accurate :

“Shaktipat or Śaktipāta (Sanskrit, from shakti – “(psychic) energy” – and pāta, “to fall”) refers in Hinduism to the conferring of spiritual “energy” upon one person by another. Shaktipat can be transmitted with a sacred word or mantra, or by a look, thought or touch – the last usually to the ajna chakra or third eye of the recipient.”

Continuing with the story: I knew all these things but at the time I did not realize how dark and foreboding a church service could get. The service started out just fine with Praise and Worship music, typical Vineyard music, which I usually enjoyed. But, then things started to happen, and I looked at Krista, and she looked at me, and we both knew we were in trouble.

Yes, several leaders from Toronto were leading the service. I don’t want to name names here, for one thing, I don’t want to get a call from someone’s “Christian” attorney, so for this article I will just call them the leaders from Toronto.

The first thing I was told was that the signs and wonders we were about to see and experience were from the Holy Spirit; and that it would be a sin against the Spirit to reject this new anointing. (Please note: While this dialog is written from memory, and it is not word for word as spoken by the leader from Toronto, it does capture the essence of what I heard that day). “This is what the Lord is doing today, and for those who reject this anointing, you will be left out, and left behind. This is the New Wine, the new river of God, and you just have to accept it with your heart–not your mind. And don’t pray, this is not a time for prayer. Your mind will reject it on face value, you must bypass your mind, and open your heart to receive the New Wine.”

Danger-sign-B

I don’t know about you but when a preacher or leader in the church tells me NOT TO PRAY, I see red flags all over the place. When I am told that if I do not accept this new move of the Holy Spirit that I am in sin, or that God will leave me behind if I don’t accept it without question–that’s another red flag; because if you are saved, or born-again, there is no way on Earth that God is going to leave you behind. As for the mind, this is what Jesus said about the human mind and God:

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind (Matthew 22:37).

It appears to me that the mind is included with the heart and soul. God never expects us to shut off our mind, whether we are in the world or the church. That’s what cults and false religions teach, and it is also a quick way to get into trouble in any circumstance.

The leader from Toronto didn’t read from a Bible as far as I can remember, all of the emphasis was on the “power encounter.” And let me tell you–it was a real power encounter, just not an encounter with the Holy Spirit of God.

In truth, it was an encounter with familiar spirits, and with emotional manipulation and mind control.

I saw one of the guys in the praise band fall on the stage, and he lay there motionless for well over and hour. When he fell down his arms were still holding his guitar up in the air. So someone removed his guitar and his arms remained up in the air–motionless.

A lady sitting next to us began to manifest in a strange way–her wrist began to flick back and forth very rapidly, and she began to vibrate and jump around in her seat. Someone helped her get up and they took her down to the stage. When the Toronto leader placed his hands on her head she began to bow from the waist, up and down, very rapidly, all the while flinging her wrists back and forth. The Toronto leader said, “She is physically manifesting in her body the deep worship that is occurring in her heart.”

At that point the Toronto leader then invited people to come down front to the stage to get this so-called New Wine, and over the course of several hours I saw people jerking around, falling down screaming, laughing, moaning. And the worst manifestation that I saw was a lady on the stage moving her hips as if she were giving birth. I saw people rolling on the floor and barking like dogs. People were making other noises like animals. It was a living nightmare that I will never forget.

The Holy Spirit is holy–He will never degrade a human being to the point that they whine, grumble, growl, or bark like an animal.

And now, years later, the Toronto side-show morphed into the Brownsville Revival in Pensacola, Florida, and on to the so-called revival in Lakeland, Florida and all of the shameful weirdness that manifested there. It is getting worse, much worse, with so-called leaders like John Crowder and his blasphemous, mystical Holy Ghost carpet ride, as he holds his plastic Jesus, and “tokes the Holy Ghost.”

For full disclosure I am a Charismatic Christian, and I do believe in the power of the Holy Spirit to fill the believer, including the gifts of glossolalia or tongues as the Holy Spirit chooses (Not every Christian will speak in tongues, nor demonstrate certain gifts. The power of God is always under His control, not human control). So, I am not an armchair quarter back here, I am speaking from experience. I grew up in a Holiness church, and later attended both Pentecostal and Charismatic churches, and at present I attend a very balanced Charismatic church (my pastor is also a seminary professor, and he also leads many missionary trips to foreign countries).

It is important to understand what is happening in many churches these days, not just the Pentecostal and Charismatic members of the church. In many places the church has been invaded by familiar spirits–in many Evangelical churches Contemplative Prayer, which is a Christianized version of  Transcendental Meditation, is spreading like wildfire. And no wonder, because many of the same churches also have Yoga classes–again, another form of Eastern spirituality under the guise of Christianity.

All of these things are leading the Christian church into an alien form of spirituality, something so foreign that even the founding Apostles of Christ, Paul, James, John, Peter, etc., would have a difficult time recognizing as true, biblical, Christianity.

All of this will, in the end, lead the church into the arms of the Alien Antichrist–who will come with an alien, or demonic form of spirituality. This New Wine, as they call it, if I may use that term, will lead the world to worship the Antichrist, and a Serpent–the old Devil himself.

The church is in danger, and many honest Christians are in grave danger, not just from Bible denying Liberals who turned their back on Christ a long time ago, but from a new form of Christian spirituality, which uses signs and wonders empowered by familiar spirits.

I will have more to say on this in the next post.

Until then. thanks for visiting.

DANGEROUS MIRACLES WILL DECEIVE THE CHURCH by Jeff Wingo

Saint Paul delivering the Areopagus sermon in Athens, by Raphael, 1515.

Saint Paul delivering the Areopagus sermon in Athens, by Raphael, 1515.

Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,  That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition… 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3.

As you read the above Scripture you will notice that there is an order of events to the End of Days.

The last event to happen, and the main one as far as Scripture is concerned, is the Second Coming of Christ. The Thessalonians were very concerned that they had perhaps missed the rapture of the church, and that the Day of the Lord, or, the Great Tribulation was upon them. Here, Paul corrects the error; and we should study this passage to fully understand the order of events. Deception is rampant in the church these days, we were warned, and that warning has proven to be so true. This chapter is written to prevent our being deceived.

Notice that the coming of Christ is tied together with the rapture of the church. Our gathering together with Christ is the rapture or catching away. It is the gathering of Christians, both the living and the dead, from all over the earth, and this event will happen when Christ steps over the threshold of eternity into our universe of time and space. It is also connected here with the Day of the Lord (here expressed as the Day of Christ), and that event will only happen as we get near the end of the Great Tribulation.

In other words, Christ doesn’t come back until the end of the Great Tribulation. At that point in time He will then gather up His church.

Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.  And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. (Matt. 24:29-31).

Once we come to understand that bit of truth we become more perceptive to what Scripture says to us regarding end time events. In other words, we are freed from the doctrines of men because we allow Scripture to teach us as the Lord intends.

This is so important because of the order of events in 2 Thessalonians chapter 2.

With that foundational understanding, it is plain from the passage that the return of Christ, and the gathering of Christians will not happen until two things occur:

  1. The apostasy.
  2. The revelation of the Man of Sin.

The apostasy Paul mentions here is not the general apostasy which is common in the church. Paul wrote earlier that during the time of the end men would abandon the doctrines of the faith and give heed to false doctrines.

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils. (1 Timothy 4:1).

The Apostle John also said that even during his lifetime, in the first century, the spirit of antichrist was working to produce the many (lessor) antichrists.

Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time (1 John 2:18).

The many antichrists spoke of here are responsible for the general apostasy which infects the church, in the past, and today. This includes thousands of false preachers and false prophets all around the world (and most of American Christian TV), and bigger fish like the pope, and the evil soul robbing doctrines of the Roman Catholic Church. It also includes all religions on the Earth that are in contradiction with the teachings of Jesus and the apostles.

The general apostasy is one thing, but the apostasy spoken of in Second Thessalonians is something more, because it is connected with the revelation of the Antichrist, the Man of Sin.

Once the Man of Sin makes his appearance we know that he will possess all the power of Satan himself.

Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders (2 Thessalonians 2:9).

The Antichrist will come will “all power.” That refers to the power of Satan, the Fallen Cherub who has the power to work miracles; yes, real miracles in our world of time, space, and matter.

Some may dispute that, but I think it is dangerous to discount the power of evil supernaturalism. That is the mistake that many people make. They seem to believe that Satan only works “fake” miracles, only uses illusion in some way–almost like a stage magician. But the Bible says “all power” and that is exactly what it means.

The Greek word for “all” is pas, which means “all, any, every, the whole.” And the word for “power” is dynamis, which refers to “strength power, ability; power residing in a thing by virtue of its nature.”

By nature Satan is a very cunning, clever, and powerful, angel of light.

And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light (2 Cor. 11:14). .

The danger is that we discount the power of Satan because we don’t want to believe it can really be that bad.

As Jesus said, “Take heed that no man deceive you” (Matt. 24:4).

And as Paul said, “Let no man deceive you by any means” (2 Thess. 2:3).

This is part 1. On the next post I will write about how this applies to the present, and to the general apostasy currently in the church which is preparing the church for the revelation of the Man of Sin.

REJOICE IN THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS by Jeff Wingo

Christ's Appearance to Mary Magdalene after the Resurrection. Painting by Alexander Ivanov, 1835.

Christ’s Appearance to Mary Magdalene after the Resurrection. Painting by Alexander Ivanov, 1835.

Sunday, March 27 is Resurrection Day, the day we celebrate the resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ. Because He died for our sins, was buried, and three days later arose from the dead, we have forgiveness of sin and newness of life in Christ.

Our world needs hope–look at all the evil going on, especially evil done in the name of religion. True belief–faith, in the biblical gospel of Christ sets the soul free from the power of sin and new life begins through the power of the Holy Spirit.

If God does nothing else for me in this life other than save me from my sin, He has done enough: He forgives my sin because of the finished work of Christ on the cross of Calvary; and if my body is found in the grave at the return of Christ I know that he will gather me up with all the other saints, and I will spend eternity with Him in the New Heaven and the New Earth.

Salvation is found in Christ alone by faith alone. It is not found in religious ritual, the communion wafer and wine, or the act of baptism. Salvation is found by faith in Christ alone. That is what is so freeing about the gospel–I am free from performance. I don’t have to act out in a religious sense for God because the real work for salvation was done by Christ on the cross, by Christ alone.

What could I possibly add to the finished work of Christ?

John 19:30: When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

The phrase “it is finished” tells the whole story. In Greek the words mean “paid in full.” It means that everything necessary to fulfill the Scriptures is fulfilled. There is nothing left to do–the sin offering is complete. Couple that with the resurrection and everything necessary for salvation is accomplished–IT IS FINISHED. What more could we add to that?????

All that is left is for you to do is to make a choice and place your faith in Christ, and the finished work! Paul clearly detailed the gospel for us, and if we believe these truths forgiveness of sin will occur and eternal life will be yours.

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;  And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures (1 Cor. 15:1- 4).

Furthermore, the gospel is realized by faith and faith alone:

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:9-10).

Where are the great works or religious rituals you have to perform for salvation? There are none, they are not found in the Bible–salvation comes by faith not by religious ritual and works.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  Not of works, lest any man should boast Ephesians 2:8-9).
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;  Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life (Titus 3:5-7).

Believe the gospel and be saved! Have peace in Christ and He will give you the peace of God which passes all understanding (Phil. 4:7).

Have a wonderful Resurrection Day and thanks for visiting!

As you may have noticed I have taken some time off from writing on the blog. I have been ill for sometime, although I am now recovering by the grace of God; so I appreciate your prayers.

It is not easy writing about heavy spiritual issues continually, although I do enjoy it. When you stand on the front line in the spiritual war you will take a hit now and then–the spiritual battle is very real, as I and others can testify. As Paul wrote, pray for me, “that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak (Ephesians 6:19-20).

I am also working on a new book, although I had to lay it down for a period of time because of my illness. It should be finished by now but because of my illness it is greatly delayed. So pray also that I will be able to pick up my pen and write as the Lord leads. I am very excited about the topic and I look forward to the work of research and writing.

THE ONLY PROTECTION FROM THE DECEPTION by Jeff Wingo

Peter's conflict with Simon Magus by Avanzino Nucci, 1620.

Peter’s conflict with Simon Magus by Avanzino Nucci, 1620.

Our world is filled with deception. Often it is easy to spot and sometimes it is not. Experience of course helps to sift the wheat from the chaff. Spiritual deception is especially evil in my opinion because eternal souls are at stake.

That is why I personally detest most of what I see on Christian TV these days; spiritual charlatans come a dime a dozen it seems, and they have the power of media to deceive many young Christians and others. The proof  is that they teach many unbiblical doctrines and use the power of religion to milk money from undiscerning people who are probably the least able to afford it. In turn they rob gullible Christians and the local church.

Another area of religious deception comes from those who promote so-called miracles and signs and wonders. I believe in the charismata, e.g., the gifts of the Holy Spirit as outlined in the New Testament. I have seen real miracles happen through prayer. But most of what passes for “revival” and “miracles” these days is embarrassing, and completely foreign to biblical truth. It is more akin to enchanting, or fetish magic.

I know a man who is very ill, and he went to a group of Christians for prayer; he was hoping for healing and at least some relief from his illness. When he arrived at the prayer meeting he was told all about the results they have been getting: for example, gold teeth, which suddenly appeared in the mouths of the faithful. He was told all about the gold dust, and the sudden appearance of angel feathers and anointing oil. He was told all about the glory cloud and visions.  He went through the motions but left totally discouraged, because like me, he realizes the spiritual games that people play–and he didn’t appreciate being the target of the game. He wanted real hope from the Living Lord of the universe and all he got was a spiritual counterfeit, a fabricated litany of lies and games–all in the name of Jesus.

If Christians have trouble spotting spiritual deception now how are they going to discern truth from error once the Fallen Ones are here on Earth in the flesh for all to see?

There is coming a time when the Devil and his angels will be cast permanently from the heavens to Earth (Revelation 12:7-9). Currently they reside in the atmospheric regions around Earth, that is why Satan, the chief Archon, is called the Prince of the Power of the Air (Ephesians 2:2).

But one day Satan and his fallen angels will be involuntarily cast from their present domain called the  “air.” The Lord God will forcefully expel them from the spiritual dimension into our world of time, space, and matter. For them, there is no other place to go: Earth is the battleground. Once this extraordinary event occurs the heavens will rejoice; for they are finally free of defilement. However the message for the inhabitants of Earth is severe warning:

Rev 12:12:  Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

If people are unable to discern spiritual deception now how are they going to discern truth from error once the Fallen Ones suddenly come to Earth in Chariots of Fire? Will discernment even exist after the Fallen Ones are here? Perhaps that is why Jesus said “when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth” (Luke 18:18)? That is a serious question we should all ponder, if we believe biblical truth and the prophetic word that is.

Because the truth of the matter is that many Christians are woefully unprepared for what is coming. Many never really give serious thought or consideration to the dire implications of biblical prophecy, and how it will personally affect them. Have you?

Have you thought about how you will react when biblical prophecy begins to play out? What will you do when the Middle East explodes, Israel is attacked by an international Islamic force, and then that vast army is annihilated by a devastating firestorm from the heavens? The reason I ask is because the prophecy states that the firestorm will also fall upon those who dwell “carelessly in the isles.”

Ezekiel 39:6: And I will send a fire on Magog, and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I am the LORD.

Have you thought about the fact that the isles may refer to distant countries like the United States, Great Britain, and Australia?  Countries now that are relatively safe from invasion (other than random terrorist attacks).

Once the Middle East is on fire it is possible that that event may be the moment when the Fallen Ones are expelled from the heavens. Millions may believe that Satan is Christ, and millions of fallen angels are the Hosts of Heaven. They may appear as incredible beings of light. The deception will be perfect, and the timing will be splendid. Billions of people may believe that UFOs and aliens have come to rescue the world from self-destruction.

Will your faith survive?

I dare say that the majority of the Christians living in the U.S. and other prosperous places are too occupied right now trying to get their “blessing.” They are too busy running from prophet to prophet searching for a word that will satisfy their already over sated spiritual souls–while they neglect the most important things–the Prophetic Words found in the Bible, and private prayer and devotion to the Lord. Is it because they are safe in the belief that they will be “raptured out of here” before all hell breaks loose on Earth?

Perhaps we should read the prophetic Word again because in the Revelation I see Christian martyrs all over the place.

That should spur all of us on to holiness and prayer before the Lord. Perhaps we have neglected our fear of the Lord.  How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation? (Hebrews 2:3).  How shall we escape if we do not take heed in fear and trembling before the Lord in prayer and repentance?

The only protection from the deception is a vibrant relationship with the Living Lord of the Universe–Jesus Christ. Have faith in God, trust Him in all things, and read His Word for understanding and direction.

2016: A WORD OF HOPE AND A WORD OF WARNING by Jeff Wingo

Christ and the Rich Young Ruler by Heinrich Hofmann, 1889.

Christ and the Rich Young Ruler by Heinrich Hofmann, 1889.

For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Matthew 16:16

Happy New Year everyone! It’s the beginning of a new year and it is my hope and prayer that the Lord will continue to bless us with His peace and hope. The peace of God peace comes only through Christ by the power and presence of the Holy Spirit.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid (John 14:27).

The Lord also gives us hope, a deep abiding trust that God will be with us no matter the circumstance.

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost (Romans 15:13).

Of course the ultimate expression of our hope from heaven is the return of the King of Kings.

Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ (Titus 2:13).

It is my hope that you will find your true peace in Jesus Christ. If you are looking forward to this new year with fear or uncertainty then know that Christ can calm your fear and bring peace in the midst of turmoil.

I am just like you, I do not know what the future will bring in this new year. God looks at our world and He must weep at all the sin, degradation, and unbelief. Most of the turmoil we see on the news is caused by human sin and selfishness. Behind it all humanity is pushed forward into even greater sin by the Fallen Dark Powers that rule the world from the spiritual dimension.

I often wonder why the Lord allows it to go on, but I also know that He has reason for allowing things to progress as they are. He sees the evil that goes on behind the scenes, among both humans and fallen angels; and although they may think they have the upper hand, it is the Lord who rules over the affairs of both men and angels.

Our ultimate battle though is with the Fallen Ones who operate behind the scenes. That is why the apostle Paul said we should be “strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might” (Ephesians 6:10). Paul goes further by instructing us to “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil (Eph. 611).

It is important to know that when Paul made use of the word “wiles” he used the Greek word methodeia which refers to the cunning arts used by the Devil and his fallen angels. It refers to satanic crafts and methods of trickery devised by Satan to lead humanity away from God and Christ, and into the darkness of sin and depravity.

Think about one of the main methods employed by the Fallen Ones: the sin of idolatry. The sin of idolatry, or the worship of false gods, destroys more souls than any other sin on earth. Indeed, idolatry is designed to move humanity far away from the true God into all kinds of evil activities and beliefs.

The main focus on this blog is the sin of alien idolatry. If the Fallen Ones can lead someone into the worship of alien gods his work is done. Ultimately, the sin of alien idolatry will lead to destruction. For proof of this we need look no further than the Heavens Gate cult , which in 1997 resulted in the mass suicide of 39 people. What was their goal? To join a UFO they thought was following the Hale-Bop comet. Their leader, Marshall Applewhite, said “it was the only way to evacuate this Earth.” Later two former members of the group also committed suicide.

Everyone who follows the lie of the alien gods will be destroyed in the end because this sin, like all sin, leads to the Broadway of eternal destruction: a Christless eternity, forever cut off from the presence and blessings of God.

According to the book of Revelation during the Great Tribulation billions of souls will follow the Beast: this is the ultimate UFO cult which will find its expression in worldwide worship of alien gods: the Beast and the Dragon, an alien reptilian image by the way.

Rev.13:4: And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?

The Greek word for dragon is drakōn, defined as “a dragon, a great serpent, or a name for Satan.” According to Strong’s it is also a “a fabulous kind of serpent (perhaps as supposed to fascinate).” This is interesting when you realize that the root word of  drakōn  is the Greek word dérkomai which means “to look, to see.” It refers to the keen eyesight of the serpent.

This is an allusion to the Serpent in the Garden of Eden who was more “subtle” or “crafty” “than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made” (Genesis 3:1).

The Serpent we deal with today is the same creature that confronted our first parents in the Garden. His eyesight is very keen as he works his subtlety or craft on each of us. He knows our weaknesses; and he works night and day to lead us away from Christ into the dark depths of the knowledge of good and evil.

As we enter the new year of 2016 let us commit our ways unto the Lord. As the Word says “In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths” (Proverbs 3:6). In that way, and by faith through the power of the Holy Spirit, the Lord will enable us to stay on the narrow path, “Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it” (Matthew 7:14).

THE SIGN OF ABOMINATION by Jeff Wingo

The nation of Israel is destined to play a major part in the Last Days. Indeed, the Last Days will center around the nation. A key Bible prophecy, indicating the beginning of the Great Tribulation will occur in Israel, on (or around), the Temple Mount.

THE TEMPLES OF ISRAEL

The first place of worship for Israel was the Tabernacle in the wilderness, built during the days of Moses. It was used until David set up a tent on Mount Zion in the city of Jerusalem. In this structure he installed the Ark of the Covenant and the priests continued their ministry (1 Chron. 15:1; 16:1; 2 Sam. 6:17).

Solomon built the first Temple on the Mount Moriah in 960 B.C.. It was later destroyed in 586 B.C. by the Babylonian armies of King Nebuchadnezzar. The second Temple was rebuilt on the Mount by Zerubbabel (circa 520 B.C.), and it was later expanded during the reign of Herod the Great. This Temple stood until the Jewish revolt of A.D. 66, which of course ended in disaster when the Temple was destroyed by the Roman legions of Titus in A.D. 70. It is interesting to note that both Temples were destroyed on the very same day of the Jewish calendar,  Tisha B’Av, the 9th of Av (roughly, 655 years apart), which falls in our month of August.

Forty years previous to the Roman destruction, the disciples of Jesus tried to impress him with the wonder and beauty of the Temple. Jesus had just confronted the deceit of the Pharisees  and wasn’t impressed with legalism and the outward adornments of religion. He led the disciples out of the city across the Red Heifer Bridge to the Mount of Olives. Turning around, and facing the city and the Temple complex Jesus said, ” See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, there shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down (Matt.24:2). After a moment of thought one of the disciples said, “Tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?”

Most of you know the rest. Jesus gives warnings regarding the deceptive nature of the times; warnings about coming false christs and false prophets, and false signs and wonders. Wars, rumors of war, famine and pestilence, and a warning about the rise of iniquity and Christian persecution.

But there is one sign that is greater than all of the others because it is a clear indication, a signal for the End of the Age, that is distinct and recognizable by all. That sign is the Abomination of Desolation.

Matt.24:15-21:  When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand): Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!  But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:  For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

It is interesting to note that once the Abomination of Desolation takes place, the text says “then shall be great tribulation.” All of the other signs lead up to that point, and once it occurs Jesus says run for your life, this is it. For then shall be Great Tribulation. Furthermore, Jesus also says that unless the days were shortened no flesh will survive; in other words, all human life will be annihilated.

THE ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION

Without a doubt this sign indicates the beginning of the end of our world as we know it. That is why Jesus is clear; he wants you the reader to understand exactly what the Abomination of Desolation is, and he wants you to realize that once this act occurs, troubles without equal in all the history of the world are about to begin. Indeed, I do not think there is anything that we could compare this period of time in Earth history with. The warning is clear.

The Abomination of Desolation refers to a great act of evil that happened in the history of Israel. It is so important that Daniel wrote about it, as did Paul the Apostle.

Daniel 9:27: And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Daniel 11:31:  And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.

In 168 B.C., the Seleucid king Antiochus Epiphanes began to persecute the Jews, forbidding the daily sacrifice in the Temple. Thousands of Jews died, and he desecrated the Temple when he installed a statue of Zeus in the Holy of Holies. He also slaughtered a pig on the Great Altar, and spread its broth throughout the Temple, effectively defiling the sacred areas.

If not for the guerrilla warfare of the Maccabees the Jewish nation may not have survived. In 165 B.C. they forced the armies of Antiochus to withdraw and cleansed the Temple, reinstituting the daily sacrifice and oblations.

Bust of Antiochus IV of Syria.

Bust of Antiochus IV of Syria.

Antiochus referred to himself as Antíochos D’ ho Epiphanḗs, which means “God Manifest.” It was a continuation of the old Emperor cult practiced by most of the tyrants of the time.

This scenario, which occurred almost  200 years before the time of Christ, is the Abomination of Desolation. However, it was not fulfilled in detail by Antiochus (he didn’t sign a covenant with Israel), and it will occur in the future just as Jesus predicted.

Paul also wrote about the Abomination of Desolation when he said that the Man of Sin will sit in the Temple of God. Not only will the Antichrist install himself in the Temple as God, he will also institute a living Image in the minds of his worshippers. Once a Beast follower receives the Image of the Beast in the mind, a mark of some type will erupt on the right hand or forehead; this is the Mark of the Beast.

2 Thessalonians 2: 4: Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Once the Beast enters a rebuilt Temple and takes his seat in the place of God, then will begin 3 1/2 years of tribulation that will be unlike any other period of time in all Earth history. It will be a time of evil supernatural activity that will overwhelm the people of Earth.

This sign of the Abomination of Desolation will be unmistakable. Jesus, Daniel, and Paul, predicted the event, and it is a clear sign to Christians that the end is near; the return of the Messiah is at hand.

This sign is unlike the recent false signs we have seen: the Blood Moon fiasco in September, and others like it. The Abomination of Desolation is a REAL biblical sign to the nations.

When will it happen? First, Satan and his fallen angels will be cast to the Earth (Rev. 12). That is the beginning of the Strong Delusion. For an in-depth study I suggest my book Alien Antichrist, which will provide all the details you need to know. In the book I go into detail about the Antichrist, the Image and Mark of the Beast, and the real meaning behind the number 666.

Thanks for visiting, and have a happy Thanksgiving holiday!

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND ABOUT THE END TIMES PART TWO by Jeff Wingo

The Pilgrim of the Cross at the End of His Journey by Thomas Cole, 1841.

The Pilgrim of the Cross at the End of His Journey by Thomas Cole, 1841.

And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.  And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.  And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
Matthew 24:1-3

When the apostles asked Jesus for signs of the end times, and specifically His return to our planet at the end of the age, He pointed out many things that must come to pass.

  • Rampant deception (this includes natural human deception and  supernatural deception administered through false prophets and false christs. Also, the supernatural deception of Satan and the Fallen Hosts and the UFO and alien illusion).
  • Wars and rumors of war between ethnic groups and nations.
  • Increase of famine and horrible diseases in many different places on the planet (plagues).

Interestingly, Jesus said these things are “the beginning of sorrows (Matt. 24: 8). Of course we have always had war and disease, these are the dogs which have plagued humanity sin the fall.

But I believe what Jesus meant is that we will see a severe increase of all these things at once. At this point I think of Paris, France.  Muslims following the ideology of death, which is Radical Islam, particularly the brand espoused by ISIS, attacked the city of Paris from multiple fronts causing the death of 129 people and wounding 352 others. That is nation rising against nation, driven to act by sin, and powerful, deceptive, fallen angels and demons.

The word nation is the Greek word ethnos, which refers to “a multitude of individuals of the same nature or genus” (Thayer).  Islam of course is a religious ideology held by people of many different tribes, or people groups. But the one thing that binds many of them together these days, especially the more radical of the groups, is a fixation on domination and death to “infidels” or “unbelievers.” We see this everyday in the Middle East as Christians and others are brutally tortured, mutilated, and murdered.

That is ethnos against ethnos driven by religious ideology. In the end all of this will lead to national and international wars until the entire world is aflame with war–which leads to famine and pestilence.

As Jesus continued He said, “Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake” (Matt.24:9). We see the fulfillment of this as Radical Islam crucifies and beheads Christians day in and day out in Syria, Iraq, and in other places around the world, even in the United States, where a Radical Muslim terrorist beheaded a woman in Oklahoma.

Because of the rapid increase of wickedness and iniquity many people will be offended and love will grow cold.

But there is still one sign Jesus said is greater than all of these put together.

Matthew 24:15:

“When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand).”

While we will see the rapid increase of false prophets and false christs, war, and pestilence, etc., the Abomination of Desolation is the only sign that Jesus said when you see it, run for your life, flee to the mountains.

When you see the Abomination of Desolation don’t even think of anything else except run. Don’t pack your clothes, just grab your children and flee. And, as Jesus said, hope that when it happens it’s not winter, because your going to flee to the wilderness.

Have you given that aspect of Bible prophecy any thought? I realize that most Christians believe they will be raptured out of here before all this takes place, but I am not one of them. I came to understand, after I studied the issue in the Bible, that there will be no secret Pre-Tribulation rapture. Oh, there will be a rapture, but not till the end of the Great Tribulation (Matt. 24:29-31). (Please don’t send me hate mail about the rapture, regarding how wrong I am, I get weary of it).

This is why Jesus warned the church about deception. Because those who believe they will be rescued by a secret rapture will not be ready to face the onslaught of evil that will come during the Great Tribulation.

The Abomination of Desolation is the one sign that will definitely indicate the start of the Great Tribulation. Because the next verse says “For then shall be Great Tribulation…”

For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
Matthew 24:21

Indeed, the Great Tribulation will be so severe that unless it’s cut short “there should no flesh be saved.” But for the sake of Christians the Lord will return and cut it short.

These are the biblical signs of the End Times. I am concerned that in popular Christian culture we get so caught up in the wrong signs and date setting. That’s not good, and it can damage the faith of so many people when “popular” prophecy signs don’t pan out.

The Abomination of Desolation is the one key sign that will indicate the beginning of the Great Tribulation.

It is a clear sign, and will not be easy to mistake. It’s a religious sign, and is deeply related to the alien issue. In my next post, part three, I will discuss the Abomination of Desolation and its relation to UFOs and aliens, and the Antichrist Beast of Revelation chapter 13.

Until then, pray for the families that lost love ones in Paris, France. Pray also that our leaders will name the evil for what it is, and go after it. I find it absolutely appalling that President Obama and his administration will not use the words Radical Islam, or terrorists, when talking about events such as the massacre in Paris the other night.

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND ABOUT THE END TIMES by Jeff Wingo

The one question I hear most frequently is this: “When will the Antichrist appear.”  Sincere people are looking for a sincere answer. My answer to their question is this: ” The Antichrist will appear once three things happen, do you know what those three things are?” In all truth, with all of my heart I am not trying to trick them, appear self-righteous, or smug.

My question has a motive which is this: As Christians seeking a biblical answer we must know what Jesus and the Apostles said on the matter. I am nothing compared to Christ, and I am nobody compared to the Apostles. Their answers are the only things that really matter. The question we should ask is this: “What did Jesus and the Apostles say on the matter?” That is the heart of all knowledge for all things pertaining to life and godliness, and especially the End Times.

Jesus warned us about false prophets. He knew they would take His word and twist it like a nose of wax to gain a following. Some of the contorted things I read online just make me ill when I realize that new Christians may read such nonsense. So the key is to get back to biblical study coupled with sincere prayer for understanding and discernment.

Lets get back to the biblical signs we should be looking for.

Paul said there are three things we must know about the End of Days. The first sign we should watch for will be a very significant increase in wickedness and evil. Obviously, wickedness and evil is always among us, but this will be an exponential rise in evil.

  • 2 Timothy 3:1-5: This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;  Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
  • 2 Timothy 3:13: But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

Currently, sin is restrained by the merciful power of God. That is God’s general grace to the world. It is because He does restrain sin and evil, both human and non-human (fallen angels and demons), that we are able to live a somewhat orderly life. It is human sin, and agitation by fallen spiritual beings, that bring chaos such as murder, war, rape, etc. Without the grace of God we would not be able to live life at all. Normal life would be entirely impossible. There would be no real life, joy, or beauty, at all in the world.

Titus 2:11-12:  For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men; Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;  Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ..

But, thank the Lord He does grant general grace, and an opportunity for salvation, which is open to all, so that we can have and enjoy life, love, raise families, and produce good things that benefit the human family.

Nevertheless, according to Paul the Lord has a limit on that kind of grace.

2 Thessalonians 2:6-7: And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.  For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way (KJV).

The New American Standard Bible brings out even more meaning from the verse:

2 Th. 2:6-7: And you know what restrains him now, so that in his time he will be revealed. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way.

To be plain, Paul is telling the Thessalonians that the Antichrist is currently being restrained, and will only be revealed “in his time.” In other words, the Antichrist, the Man of Sin, is currently being held in check by a great force. In verse seven Paul says “only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way.

Who is doing the restraining? The only being in the universe capable of restraining evil of this magnitude is God, the Holy Spirit. Some teachers claim the restraining influence is the Archangel Michael, or human government, or the church. However, human governments are incapable of restraining themselves. In fact, most governments lean toward tyranny and evil, and more so with progress of time.

While some Christians may disagree with me on this, the church is losing its cultural influence as well; so it is incapable of restraining evil of the magnitude associated with Antichrist. This is caused mainly by capitulation to the world system and false doctrine. But even more, the church isn’t meant to be the restrainer of Antichrist. During the Tribulation Christians will face the wicked onslaught of the Beast. During that period of time, millions of Bible believing Christians will be martyred because the spirit of antichrist will fully manifest, working unhindered and unrestrained. While things may look bad right now,  we haven’t seen anything yet.

Indeed, most of the Christian church is ill prepared to face the tsunami of evil about to breakout in the world.

The church is losing its influence because its ability to work in the world as “salt” and “light”  is watered down and dimmed by powerful cultural influences. Because church leadership has largely abandoned God they are now being influenced and manipulated from behind the scenes by incredibly evil fallen beings: principalities and powers, rulers of the darkness of this kosmos, or world system, and spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6:12).

Once solid denominations have become nothing more than hotbeds of sin, and reflections of culture; how could they possibly influence the world for Christ? Indeed, they have recreated Christ in their own fleshly image, a false Christ served by false prophets.  It is no wonder then, that when the biblical Jesus Christ spoke of the last days Laodicean church He said He would “spew them out of His mouth”  (Revelation 3:16). They make Him sick.

Christ went to the cross to redeem sinners, and to deliver helpless people from the power of sin and death. But the Laodicean church presents a Jesus  who loves the sinner and approves of their sin with a wink and a nod. As Paul wrote, “What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid”  (Romans 6:15).

One of the greatest dangers to the Christian church will not come from a morally bankrupt culture however. The greatest danger to the church is coming right now through false teachers and prophets who claim to be Apostles, but are not. Many of these false apostles teach that they will have greater power than Paul, Peter, or James, the original apostles of the biblical Christ. I am not surprised when I see that some of these “apostles” have an anointing to do certain works of power.

I saw a video not long ago in which a “prophetess” laid hands on a young man who was kneeling at an altar of prayer. The young man began to twist and writhe, and scream in such a way that reminded me of someone demon possessed. The truth of the matter is that he was possessed: he received an impartation from a false apostle anointed by a familiar spirit.

I have dealt firsthand with people possessed by evil entities. Its ugly, and dangerous. This is now coming into the church administered by false apostles “anointed” with power by familiar spirits. And undiscerning Christians are yielding to this satanic impartation of evil!

These are the false prophets and false Christs we were warned about.  The word Christ means anointed or anointed one. So when Jesus called them false Christs, He wasn’t necessarily talking about someone claiming to be Christ (although they come in His name). What He meant was that a false Christ will have a pseudo or false anointing that mimics the Holy Spirit, thus enabling them to be a “false Christ;” a false anointed one. This is accomplished by spiritual power administered through an ob, or familiar spirit; in other words, a fallen angel or demon.

If the church falls for a false anointing administered through a false prophet or apostle, how will Christians discern the signs of the times when fallen angels masquerading as aliens suddenly appear in the skies above?

John the Revelator said that one day the Dragon (Satan) and his fallen angels will be cast out from the heavens to Earth (Rev. 12:9) . Once that event occurs, how will the church cope with the full manifestation of supernatural evil when today, she cannot discern a false prophet empowered by a familiar spirit in her midst?

Just something to consider.

Part Two will be coming soon!

Thanks for visiting.
